So up at an unnatural time this morning, packing in the pitch dark, due to the fact that the rest of our roommates were sleeping, and to the train station to get some last minute tickets to the airport. Jumped onto the train and made it to the airport with 3 hours to spare. This seems like a lot right? Well, they dont tell you that you actually have to ride back and forth between different terminals for about an hour and a half before you actually get anywhere near checking into your own gate. After riding a few different shuttles, we made it to our terminal, used up the last of our euros and sat and waited for the plane.
Just to make things more exciting, our plane was very late taking off, making our 40 min layover in New York even more foreboding. We arrived in the city with about 20 mins to spare, literally sprinted off the plane to our bags and to the place where we needed to REcheck the bags. Oooooonly to find out we were too late. Awesome. So we got new tickets for the next flight, checked out bags BACK in and then had to go back to the main terminal, go through security AGAIN and make it to our new gate.
The second flight to SF was less exciting, but by the time we got home, we had been traveling for something like 28 hrs. Fun! But we made it back, with our luggage! and got to sleep in a real bed. Life was good.
So the trip is over! Thanks to everyone who took the time to read any of our blogs, hopefully they were as fun to read as they were to write. And also thanks for leaving messages! It was great to "hear" from people while we were so far away! If anyone needs any tips of places to visit, you know who to call
= )
