Why isn't tallness a recognised disability?
Day 8 was a good if uneventful day. I was hoping it would be a day to relax the purse strings somewhat but I ended up buying a North Face Fleece and a new beenie hat. Nicola and I indepently shopped for hats, it turns out she tried on my hat but chose against it and then she spent the rest of the day staring admiringly at my head. I think her boyfriend was jealous, mainly beacuse he is only 3ft 8 and can't see up as far as my head.
We went swimming in the afternoon, haven't been swimming for years but ive really got the bug again. The swimming baths were thermally heated at 37 degrees so were incredibly relaxing. You may say in a strange accent that I felt revived afterwards and im going to go again before I leave.
After a walk to the Haka Falls, which were spectacular we went to the cinema to see 'The Break Up'. Nicola commented that it was her first time in the cinema with me and also with her boyfriend. It felt weird to share a 'first time' experience with a couple.
The Break Up was excellent, I love Aniston and Vaughan is a favourite as well. It was very well written and believable without a contrived chick flick type crappy ending. The movie left me in reflective mood as it was pretty similar to my own recent experience of a break-up and this left me downcast for the evening.
After a good meal it was back to the hostel as we are to be up at 5am for an 8hr trek. Just as I was about to go to sleep another dorm member walked in who I hadnt met, she was extremely pretty and sweet and we had a nice chat...I was happy again.
