As soon as I stepped off the plane, I could feel the heat hit my face and the sweat start to accumulate. The weather was sticky and humid, yet i preferred it to the cold and wet weather of Perth. After the 6 hour flight, and the 1 hour taxi ride -- we made it to the hotel. The hotel was beautiful, it captured the Thai culture perfectly. It was now dark, and we were tired so it was a case of finding some dinner and then off to bed. We ate at a large outdoor restaurant with love entertainment. The food was amazing and the people were as polite as ever. It really makes me see the world through a different perspective when I'm here, I'm so fortunate living in Australia, where here, in Phuket, they struggle to make a living for themselves. The people work very hard to make a living and continue to go out of their way to make sure you're happy and have everything you need. I love this city at night time, with Patong beach on one side and small stalls filled with rip off clothing and jewellery surrounding the other side. One of my favourite parts of Phuket, is the Tuk Tuk -- small open aired trucks blaring music and lights. It was 10:30pm and we were getting pedicures, the best way to end a night. The girls in the salon were hilarious, commenting on every boy that went past.
