Nat and Beck Go Large!
Today, we got up early for our tour of the Sacred Valley...we visited a few different places, including some more Inca ruins (we're nearly Inca-ed out), a llama and alpaca farm (included one alpaca that looks like Nat's dog Jessie when she hasn't had a haircut), Pisac market for more souvenirs, we visited a "chicha" place, which is a drink made out of fermented corn, and saw some guinea pigs awaiting their fate there too (in Peru, roasted guinea pig is a favoured dish...wrong, so wrong!) We also got stuck in a massive traffic jam on the way back...there was a policeman trying to direct the traffic through this tiny little square, but he disappeared, leaving the traffic to try and sort itself out...seeing as no-one gives way in Peru, this seemed unlikely! Fortunately, Jose, our driver, had parked outside the square, so we risked our lives running through the streets, dodging angry drivers to get to the bus. That night, our tour group (those that started with us in Lima - Angie, Matt, Sue, Laurie and Sarah, minus Jean who was ill in bed) and our tour leader Emilia went to the Irish bar (highest Irish bar in the world..about 10,000 feet above sea level!) for some proper scran...nachos were the favoured dish! Tomorrow, we're off to the mozzie fest that is the jungle!
