Day 1
I was up early to catch the flight from Brisbane to Los Angeles.
I saw some great sand sculptures at the airport while I was waiting for the flight to board. Have a look at the photos I posted of them.
I flew with Virgin Australia and the flight was 12.5 hours long. We had to wait for forty minutes past the original boarding time as apparently the flight was going to be quick and we couldn't land in Los Angeles until 6am. Therefore they made us wait longer in Brisbane so we weren't circling around in the air waiting for 6am to arrive. The pilot must of been able to work out flying time based on the weather patterns. I bet he had some sort of technological help there.
As we were approaching LA, I saw the most amazing sunrise. It started out as reds and oranges along the horizon. Then after the sun had risen slightly higher I could see the colours of the rainbow in strips along the horizon. I could only get a photo of the red and orange horizon as by the time the rainbow colours were there all electronic equipment had to be turned off as the plane was starting to descend to land.
Our arrival time on the Tarmac was just after 6am on Wednesday 7th - the same time that we had left home. So I get to live the 7th of November twice! Lucky me. I'll let you know what I get up to today when the 7th of November 2012 comes to an end once and for all.
