We awoke to find out our tour (tour c) could not run as the weather was too bad. Feeling very ill, Paps and I couldn't decide whether or not to do tour b instead, or to just rest. Eventually we decided to do tour b, it is our last day in the Philippines after all, and the views were stunning the previous day. After a lovely breakfast of bacon and pancakes, dan organised our tricycle to the port where our tour was to begin.
We arrived and it looked like nothing was happening, the beach was empty. Oh dear we thought. Next thing we know a frantic man runs up to us and is like 'where are the other two?! What happened?!' His face was a genuine picture bless him. Obviously we were not to know, but there were two more of us from our hostel, who were a good half an hour late. Very annoying.
The start of the boat tour was horrendous. I thought I was going to be sick. Nightmare. Then we got to our first stop, the beach we had had lunch at the previous day... This is where the anti fun squad developed, we stood on the beach, feeling ill and hungover and refusing to go in.
Back on the boat we got chatting to the late couple, they lived in Manila but he was originally from Perth. He was to be the most annoying creature ever! He was a nice guy, his heart was in the right place for sure, but he just got so overly excited about photos and just everything. He made everyone do the Mexican wave so he could film it, he was fascinated by a factor 50 sun cream that some German couple had, he even took photos of that?
Anyway, the next stop was a lagoon, it was nice to be floating around in the water again, until we started getting stung by jellyfish spawn again... Looooong. Our stop after that was snake island. And incredible part of El nido, the water is so clear and there is a strip of sand that looks like a snake that you can walk along in the sea. The views were beautiful at the view point. This is also where we had lunch, not quite the spread we had the previous day, but still really nice. What I personally enjoyed the most though, was a naughty monkey sitting in a tree, observing everyone and occasionally swooping down to pinch bananas from people's picnics. Talk about a stereotype.
We then sailed around a few more of the islands and had a few more stops until we got to another beautiful beach with hammocks, I enjoyed the hammocks a lot. Kieren found another beach, just under some rocks which was pretty cool and completely secluded.
Back on mainland we took a tricycle back with the couple from our hostel, when we arrived dan very kindly said we could go use our room still, so we all showered and had a nap before going back to the pizza restaurant for food again.
At around 8:30pm we made our way to the bus station to get a bus back to Puerto princessa for our flight. Luckily we got there just in time so we got seats, but various others had to sit on small seats in between seats all down the aisle, that would not have been a comfortable journey whatsoever.
I slept most of the way, not even waking up for toilet stops, it was pretty comfortable, except for the woman I was sitting next to took up far more than her fair share of the seats. But that's fine.
Arriving at the bus station we were hounded by tricycle drivers, we chose one and he took us to the airport, that did not open for another 2 hours. Consequently we all fell asleep at the side of the road, outside of the airport. Not really the safest of places as we were all completely zonked out and probably would not have awoken if someone tried to take our bags. Eventually we woke up an the airport was open, so we went to check in our bags!
