We decided to go to the beach club with Victoria and Sophie for the day. We walked around 20 minutes along the beach front with me dodging in and out of shops to buy face wash. It is very hard out here to find toiletries that haven't got whitening ingredients. I explained to the shop keeper that I did not want such an ingredient as I am currently trying my very hardest to become as brown as possible, so he offered me another whitening product. Eventually I found a normal Nivea face wash.
We got to the beach resort, paid our 100,000 rupiah, and were shown to our beanbags. The way the place works is you have to purchase your subbed/beanbag for 100,000, however you can then spend 100,000 on food or drink and they will deduct it from the total. So yes, it is slightly expensive but you get the bed for the whole day and the food and drink are both really good, plus who want to go get their own food? Not I. I had a really nice mixed berry smoothie upon arrival and later for lunch I had the pesto pasta which Sophie and Victoria recommended, it was very creamy, but delicious.
We spent the day on our beanbags, rarely moving, eventually we decided to head home and have a shower and get ready for the night.
For dinner I decided to get some noodles from across the road, they are only 10 rupiah and are absolutely delicious. They're called mie goreng. It includes noodles, chicken, a fried egg and chilli. Unfortunately, I had to share some of my chicken with two local cats who had sacrificed their time to get ensure no other cats had disturbed me throughout my meal...
We then began to predrink and enjoyed a good game of flipcup. The game involves downing your drink when it is your turn, and then trying to flip your cup upside down, once you have managed to do this, the next person can begin their turn, there are two teams and it is a race. Due to the alcohol involved, it become very, very competitive indeed. Once we had finished our game, we headed off to jungle bar, for a few more casual drinks, and then to samba samba bar, the place that stayed open late that night.
We ordered a few drinks and chatted to Victoria and Sophie until we decided to move on to the dance floor. We were dancing for a while until Paps and I decided to quickly go to the toilet. When we went back to the meeting spot we could not find the girls! We looked round and round and eventually came to the conclusion that they must have gone to get food or gone home. So we decided to go to the front and dance. The music was being played by a band and they were playing quite good stuff, a mixture of old and new pop rock and classic rock type stuff.
We danced for quite a while until Gabbi felt a bit sick so we went to the toilet. Then we went outside and got chatting to various people. After a while we went back in again and saw the guys that Gabbi had met last night.
At one point I got pushed up on to the stage as they were singing happy birthday, not sure why or how, but I got off again rather quickly.
We ended up chilling and chatting with them for the rest of the night until it was time to get food (a glorious pizza) and go home. Going home was quite the adventure as the boys had bicycles which they offered to give us a lift back on. Well, anyone who knows me will know my balance is not really my strongest attribute. But there I was, riding on the back, petrified for my life, trying not to fall off and scrape my skin, until I finally decided enough was enough, I would ride the bike, the boy could walk. So we get back to the hostel, and decide that it is almost sunrise, and that means, we need to get to bed and go to sleep asap, ready for breakfast in the morning.
