Bula! (hello in fijian).
Once again sorry for not updating in a long time. Since l last blogged I travelled up to the north of new zealand to auckland where I stayed for a couple of weeks. Didn't really do a lot there but I managed to mix up my flights so I thought I was leaving a week earlier than I was. Still not entirely sure how I managed that one lol. So after auckland I went up to the north tip of new zealand to paihia where we did a day trip up to cape reinga and went sand boarding down the sand dunes which was awesome. We spent easter day ln paihia swimming out to small islands and having an amazing bbq in a hot tub (we ate the bbq in the hot tub not cook lt lol). Then we came back down to auckland and I boarded a flight to fiji :-).
So, ln fiji I went on the fiji xperience bus where we went sandboarding (a lot scarrier than in new zealand) and horseboarding (waterskiing whilst being pulled along by a horse.) not one of us actually managed to horseboard properly lol it was really difficult. We went to traditional fijian villages and drank cava (a traditional drink made out of some sort of root) and got to visit a primary school where the children sang for us and showed us their work, well, tried to get us to do their english work for them lol. Then we went down to the river with the chief and had a raft race and played some games in the river. On the way back my raft got stuck and a couple of us had a massive mudfight with the chief. The next day we went on a 3 hour hike through a rainforest in the rain.... It was slippy and very hard work but good fun and we got to float down a river in tubes afterwards (or in our case try to push each other out of tubes) and then we jumped into a big waterfall. It was an awesome day and we deffinately slept well that night. When we got up to the north of fiji I went scubadiving which was amazing. I got to see about a million different fish on the reef and had a jellyfish fight (they don't sting there). Then we went to mudpools and hot pools and got very, very muddy again. So that was the end of the fiji experience, it was awesome and I met some amazing people on it. So the following week I went island hopping for 6days and it was fab! The sun shone everyday and there was nothing to do on the islands apart from relax and play volleyball, bliss. Apart from one day when we went to visit this underwater cave and another when we went on a cruise to see the island where castaway was filmed. It was awesome, we even reinacted the scene where he's trying to open a coconut (we didn't manage it) we also wanted to climb up to where he tries to hang himself from but we weren't allowed :-(. Oh we also looked to see if wilson had found his way home but we couldn't find him lol So anyway, that was fijl, staying on tiny, beautiful islands, playing hide and seek, getting up at 5am to watch the sunrise over the sea. Amazing! Off to thailand next.
