Last night we didn't feel like doing much so we went to a movie theater and saw "Taxi Driver" with Robert De Niro. When you go to a movie theater in Austria, you pay for your seat. Today the weather was perfect so Becky, my friend Christian, and I decided to go to the Fahrradverleih (bike rental) at the Prater and ride it to the Donauinsel (the island on the Danube river). There are many bike trails and running trails through the park. A lot of the bike trails run next to the horse riding trails, so sometimes people riding horses would pass right by us which was cool. Today my German class took a field trip to the Heurigen. The Heurigen are the wineries in Vienna. Vienna is the only city in the world in which grapes are grown to make wine. There are approximately 700 quadratic kilometers of wine growing area in the city of Vienna. The winery served us lunch and a huge glass of wine. Today I had my first class for my teaching internship. It was a really fun class and I'm excited to start going to the schools and interacting with the kids. Today our teacher basically just told us some history of the Austrian public schools and what the teaching system is like. One thing I found interesting was that every Austrian child starts speaking another foreign language at the age of 6 in public schools. No wonder everyone can speak english here! Anot...
