Bula again everyone! Well, here we are on our last day at the Beachouse before we go island hopping. We've had another amazing week, even though the weather was slightly overcast for 3 days - don't worry, we managed!! Back to the lovely sun now! Talking of which, Kim is getting a nice tan now unlike Megs who, instead, is covered in bloody mossie bites! Glamorous or what!!
We have whiled away the days, been chilling out and also met Ed and Oli, two guys who we met on our very 1st week of travelling! We all 4 got on really well so have spent most of the week with them, trying to make each other sick on the hammocks and swing by spinning around too fast (videos to follow!)
On Friday we all decided to have a bit of a party and taste the local fijian vodka-would be rude not to follow the culture wouldnt it?! Plenty of drinking games later, there we all were in the sea at 2am! Enough said really hehehe. We weren't popular in the morning with the other guests, apparently our group was pretty loud!
Yesterday, a local Fijian guy called Nossi invited us all around to his house to experience 'lavo' where he cooked chicken and potatoes on hot rocks underground in his garden! They don't use cutlery over here, so there we were sat cross legged in a circle eating food with our hands while loads of fijian kids ran around! It was an amazing experience. He also did a bonfire on the beach for us in the evening. Great stuff.
We've played beach volley ball here at the beachouse. Lets just say neither of us will be pushing for the 2012 olympics team- we weren't the strongest of players! We were on a team with Henry-the-champion-of-all-volleyball-games (or so he liked to think!) who was very arrogant and competitive...this actually spurred us on to play craply!!!
Travelling has allowed us to meet so many different people from all walks of life. We met John the other day, a 70year old who is currently on his 8th round the world trip! He's amazing to talk to and everyone knows him in the resort! Even falling off a 9ft wall and breaking his ribs hasn't stopped him from carrying on travelling! Legend.
Anyways, off to pack our bags ready for island hopping. Thanks for the messages, we love them. lots of love and hugs
