I think this is one of the few time if not the first time that I sleep till 6a.m in China. After waking up I did some work online since this is the time that the Wi-Fi works best on my laptop. I think the area of Internet connectivity is one of the wanting areas in China. Though the have good facilities Wi-Fi connection even in the good hotels we slept in was poor. Though we normally feel U.S is usually different in many things I think we can claim China is isolated due to its having its own sites which do the same functions as those in the rest of the world such as Facebook, you-tube, Google. We walked to the bakery where I bought my breakfast. After that we headed to the work area where we were to meet our patients and test the prosthetics on the patients. We tested our prosthetics on the patients and did some minor modifications according his needs. For our patient, though our prosthetics was bulky the patient was happy with it because it provided him with greater stability and he said he would now help in lifting the loads when doing the chores. It was great to also learn one of the persons had built a metallic prosthetics for himself. The greatest thing was seeing that every patient was happy with the prosthetics and that they walked comfortably with them. There was one old woman who was a bit stubborn. She insisted that she had to wear three socks with the prosthetics since she was used to that. The prosthetics had to therefore to be adjusted. I also got to use a sewing machine for the first time to make straps for the prosthetics. It was a lovely experience. Also, as we waited for other students I learnt a new dancing style from Emily, one of the Washington university students in my group. Later that evening we had a sharing party there was a summary and throwback of what we did during the week. We received certificates of participation and also some of the students gave a vote of thanks.
