Officially checked out from A Venice Fish.
The thought of dragging my bag through three bridges scares me. Hence, pumping on carbs.
The thing about Venice is, you don't really need a map. You just walk walk with proper instincts please. If you need to head back, always look out for the same signs: Rialto, Piazzale Roma or S.Marco.
So I've been walking the whole of today. Was out with my hostel mate, You Won from Korea. Just like myself, she took a trolley bag & a Prada paperbag (???) to fill up her dry food: Korean noodles. So inconvenient. Had good breakfast though the croissant could be better. Capuccino is costly here at €1.80 per cup. I don't even drink cafe latte as its always €2 & above.
So I've done sight-seeing. An just gonna chill & sit in the restaurant as long as possible for lunch (because they have clean toilet & I paid cover charge of €2.50 for some measly bread. I badly need to sit down. It's gonna be a long night in the overnight train.
I walked abit, got lost & checked out a departmental store. I also had gelato & coffee. The most awful coffee you can get here is by the name, illy. I know how much I loved it back home. But I got to say, nah-ah. I was dying to pee after my Chardonnay during lunch. And you don't get free toilets in Venice. So. Yeah. My toilet break costed me €1.50.
Finally went to the infamous Rialto Bridge. It was like Rome all over again. So so crowded.
So while I am typing this, I'm getting free music from one of the starving artists in the city. A dude singing with music from his iPhone playing. Not bad really especially his rendition on Andrea Bocelli's Time To Say Goodbye. And it's sad because people listen & do not really contribute. People like me. Heh. Cheapo.
I had so much time till I finished the whole Tuesdays with Morrie. It was really good & I was sniffing. It was cold too. And it rained. Freezing cold. Looks like I really need to get a trench coat. Here's to getting a cheap & good one!
