After a fantastic night's sleep in a clean bed, the dog woke up at 5am and so I took her for a walk along Middleton Beach to let the others have a lie in. It was grey and overcast but there were a few other dog walkers out and about and Tally and I ended up walking with a gentleman who had two older black labs. She was so busy playing with them that she ignored the ocean and the horses being exercised further down the beach! We turned around and almost had to run home as we could see the rain coming in over the ocean and luckily made it back to the van just in time. Everyone was still fast asleep so Tally and I both went back to bed for another hour!! By the time we'd had breakfast the sun had come out and the kids wanted to walk the beach - Tally couldn't believe her luck!! I think they were trying to get out of schoolwork but we still managed to do a couple of hours work before lunch! We spent the afternoon sorting out the car, as it had been totally trashed since Esperance. Nick repacked the top of the car while I vacuumed and cleaned the inside - there was sand and red dust everywhere. Nick took the kids to Emu Point for a swim and they came home cold and tired. They had hot showers and ate dinner in their pj's before crashing early around 730pm. Katharine found friends to play with at the playground and we fell asleep listening to fellow campers sing along to their guitars!
