Ciao! Last night in Roma, and boy let me tell you we really enjoyed our stay here. Yesterday we got our day started a little later than we expected, and after checking our emails and hitting up the supermarket, we decided just to take a chill day and be pool side. Its incredibly hot here, probably around 85-90 during the day, so it was a refreshing change of scenery. After a day of lounging we all went back to the bungalo and I prepared a feast suited for italy. After a filling dinner, we headed off on a night tour of Rome. We loved it!! Saw all the sites and had a really educated tour guide named Marissa, (who by the way Phil fell in love with!!) She is from Rome and taught us all the facts. You would be happy to know we even took notes to make sure we actually absorbed what we heard. Some of the highlights of the tour were the Trevi Fountain, you will see pics, and the Justice Palace, where all the government activity of italy takes place. While at the fountain it is tradition to toss a coin in, however Marissa informed us that if you toss one in and make a wish, then you will return to roma, if you toss two in then that is for love and it means you will be married, and rumor has it if you toss three in then you will have a divorce. Needless to say we all tossed in two, so hopefully some romantic blood will be flowing soon! After the tour we were all pretty tired and decided it would be best to crash early (even though we didnt get home from the tour until 12) we decided it would be best to skip the bar, and get an early start to our day. Well mission accomplished, sort of. We were all up and had breakfast by 8:30 but by the time we had figured out all the different busses we had to take, and hit up the post office to send postcards and a package back home it was already 10:30. Finally got to the colesseum and we were all really glad to have seen the sites we did. We visited all the ancient ruins and really will be best described in the photos i will be posting shortly.
