Hello me laddys! Clearly ive picked up the irish slang. I am officially in love with Ireland and every thing about it. It was definitely the most amazing, hilarious and unreal experience of my life…I mean I’m pretty sure I grew abs from laughing so much. I wish I could relive that weekend over and over again.
Emma, Benner and I started off the weekend with an all day sas trip to the cliffs of moher. We saw the countryside of Galway, stopped at a few castles, had our first beer and saw the cliffs from the water. All of it was breathtakingly beautiful. I’ve never seen so much green before. And when I say green I mean GREEN. It instantly made us love Ireland. After the trip we met up with our other friends and a bunch of other sas kids in the heart of Galway where our hotel was conveniently located. We literally were across the street from the main bar that everyone went to. It was awwwwesome. We squeezed 9 people in a tiny hotel room with 4 beds…it was sooo hilarious and probably the biggest struggle of our entire lives. We went to a bunch of irish pubs, met irish people (I effing love their accents), and irish danced. Emma and I got serenaded by like 15 irish guys for like 10 mins and I think it was the best moment of our lives. we were looooving it….until they started chanting “take your t*** out” and then we knew it was time to get out of there hahaha.
The second day we traveled from Galway to Dublin. Before we left galway we stumbled upon a cute little farmers market that had the best jewlery. I think all 9 of us had success with souvys, which is a huge accomplishment. Once we got to dublin I ordered fish and chips for the first time in my ENTIRElife. Literally the first time I’ve ever ordered fish in general, so I was pretty proud of myself. Then we had another night on the town. The navy vs. notre dame game was that day, so the pubs and streets were PACKED. We met a million people, ordered way too much beer (bulmers was our FAV.) and danced the night away. One pub that Benner and I were at ended up actually locking us in. Apparently its something they do in Ireland a lot but you never know when or which pub is going to do it. They turn their lights off, pretend they are closed and cover the windows so no one can see in and keep the party going inside. Benner has been talking about wanting this to happen to him for months, so when It actually happened I literally think his eyeballs fell out of his sockets. He was PUMPED. It was hilarious.
On Sunday we did the Guiness factory tour-which was sooo cool, their 360 degree bar on top was the coolest thing ever. You could see the whole city of Dublin. It was insane. We all couldn’t get over that it was real life. After that we went to a pub to watch the semi-finals of Galic football. Which is literally the strangest game in the whole world. It’s a mixture of rugby, soccer and volleyball. The irish were extremely into it, basically screaming f bombs at the tv every 5 seconds. It was great. After that we toured the town, and went out again. We went to a bar that a random irish girl recommended to us and it was probably the best bar/club ever. I had a blast in a glass. I danced (of course snooki danced) and sang my heart out until 4 am—I wish we could have stayed longer. I had to be basically dragged out of the bar.
Monday we took a bike tour around Dublin-which was awesome and then got back on the ship!
All in all it was sooo amazing. I definitely want to go back to Ireland at some point and experience more.
After Ireland we had one day on the ship which was madness. Definitely not enough time between a port. I was a ball of stress. For those of you who know how flustered i get can imagine what this looks like. But i think im learning to be less flustered??? Probably not but im going to think so anyway.
now I am successfully in London in the lobby of my hotel. We've already managed to take a train to get to london, do the London eye, check out big ben and work the underground system! And we've only been here for like 6 hours. I'm exaughsted but after my fish and chips I'll be ready for round one of going out in London!
Hope all is well with everyone! Miss and love you all!
Special happy bday shout out to my big sissy Laura!! And a happy one month anny to the married couple! (day late but still counts) :)
