Today we embarked on a guided tour through the Dachau concentration camp memorial... Having taught Nazi Germany, it has long been on my bucket list to actually see some of the places, where things I teach others about- have actually happened... And what an experience... It was a day to match the bleak, miserable time that this camp represents... It was freezing, grey and rained non-stop, which, much to our delight, turned into snow on the way home and continued into the night... From the pictures you will get a glimpse of life on the camp, being there though, you could actually feel the misery, fear and mental torture that these poor people endured on a daily basis...
Our evening was a lovely relaxing one after such a heavy day of history, where we just rugged up, went for a gorgeous walk with snow falling around us, and took shelter in a cosy, barn-style pub with some mulled wine for me and beer for Mostyn... Our time is ticking by- tomorrow we have our last full day in Munich- Mos Is hitting the slopes to do some snowboarding, and I will be doing it tough wandering through the shops and spending money:-) Yes... I have abandoned the skiing idea and reverted to what I do best:-) missing you all and sending lots of love and big cuddles xxx
