We arrived in florence after another gorgeous train journey through the south of France and Northern Italy... These high speed trains are the bomb!! We were in first class, with lovely big seats and on our last leg, Milan to florence, we even got free wine and peanuts, ha! It doesn't take much to impress us!! We found our hotel amidst massive crowds in the main square of florence, Italy has a public holiday on the 6th, where there is a parade through the streets of florence back to palazzo pitti, which, later in the afternoon we were lucky enough to catch... Anyway, hotel found, again, thanks to the supreme navigational skills of my travel partner! After dumping our bags we wandered through florence, amazed yet again at the architecture and history that soaks the streets of this city... Our time in Florence has been spent looking at gorgeous art, cathedrals, palace gardens and of course, keeping ourselves refreshed and energised with pizza, pasta and gelato... My jeans are starting to feel tight, haha!!
Anyway today we leave this calorific city and head north to Switzerland-Lucerne, where I have made a promise that because Mostyn tried ice skating, I will try skiing- so I'm looking forward to telling you the story about that!! Love to you all xxx
