ciao! from venezia!

We got here yesterday morning after an interesting night train... it was hot....I slept through most of it...but Ryan didnt so he was slightly miserable! The whole city is on water! So cool!! Some of the roads are actuall roads...and some are water...so getting lost is VERY easy! Yesterday, Ryan and I each donated a pair of sunglasses to the city...somewhere....we are looking for new ones now!

We stopped and ate some pizza right when we got here! We thought it was deicious...but the guide book said Venice doesnt really have GREAT italian food...so we are even MORE excited for Florence and Rome! We took a water taxi to Rialto Bridge and went to all the shops! There were so many cool things... I LOVED IT! We bought a few gifts and a few things for ourselves too! After that we stopped for some gelato....also DELICIOUS! We ate dinner by the Rialto Bridge overlooking the grand canal....talk about cool!

After all of that we went to St. Marks Square and hung out for a bit....Of course we fed the pigeons!! It was so weird! There are some great pictures of that... I was scared I was going to get a finger...or my ring....eaten off!! We washed our hands quickly and stopped for a glass of Bellini...OMG I LOVED IT!!

We woke up pretty early to shower this morning but we had to wait around forever b-c we have a shared shower....so we kept missing it! ha ha

We had gelato for breakfast...yes ice cream for breakfast! But our moms werent here to tell us we couldnt so we did it! We hopped on the water taxi and went to Murano Island. There is tons of blown glass in Venice and it is all made in Murano! So we went to the factory and watched them blow the glass. After that and about 7 bottles of luke warm water we walked around the island and all the glass shops.

We just ate lunch...pasta and a latte! The internet place is air conditioned...that is why were are here at 2:30 in the afternoon! we timed it perfectly!

After this we are going to walk around a bit more and go to St Marks Basillica. Then time for our gondola ride! I cant wait!

Tomorrow morning we leave at 6 for Florence for a day and then Rome for a day and a half...soooo we are going to be REALLY busy and might not get to update this that much...unless it is hot and the internet shop is air conditioned!! Then we will make the time!
