We didn't manage to rent a canoe out today but did decide to go on an excursion around the delta. We got to see some beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife including frogs, some very small fish, cormorants, herons, pelicans and a kingfisher. They are only the ones I can remember.

It was actually very nice to sit back, relax and let some one else guide us around so quite glad we didn't end up in canoes. I used the same argument as I do for bikes - I don't mind taking a boat as long as it's got an engine. There is no way we would have been able to see as much as we did if I had been attempting to paddle myself around. Plus we would have returned to the guest house soaked after falling in!
