Today, my mom and I spend the whole day, (and by that I mean starting at mid day) running errands. We went to the bank and did other things. The great part about today, besides spending the day outside of this house and spending it with my mom was the food. It's always about the food here! I finally had "pastelillos de chapin", which in english translates to cowfish fritter. We were driving by the coast, which I always enjoy and we stopped at a little tent and bought some. And I was dying to have them because theya are really tasty and I don't remember the last time I had them. Throughout the day I had malta India which is like a really sweet sof drink. It's made from some of the same ingredients as beer, but it doesn't have alcohol in it. I also had "quenepas" in the afternoon. Besides that, I spent the evening thinking about my return, my moving date and all that I have to do in between. I thought I would do so much more during the summer, but I enjoyed what I did and I learned so much from these last few weeks. Right now it's 3:45am and I'm packing because I can't sleep and because I will go home in two days. I had to change my flight ticket because I still have paperwork from the university that I need to get done. I'm happy I got to spend my summer in this magical yet sometimes obscure island. At the end of the day, I'm grateful for this trip; however, I'm really excited to go home. To my other home. Back in the United States. I never thought I would say this but... I miss Florida.
