this is the first stop off the 24 hour plane ride with four connections. the airline has lost my luggage and so i am with only the clothes on my back and whatever is in my carry-on (not much of actual use). soooo, shopping when the airline compensates me for all my stuff!!! i have not slept since thursday night (may 4th) except for the total of maybe two hours, but i saw the sun rise over the atlantic this morning and it was gorgeous. vienna is beautiful...i've only been here once, at night, a total of six hours, and so seeing it in the daylight is quite lovely. caught the end of mass in stephansdom, but got to stand there with the bells ringing through the square while mozart mimes stood on boxes and made strange noises (don't ask). the Archbishop celebrated today, doing something official with a bunch of guys, but i couldn't tell what was going on (at all) because it was all in german, and i'm only minimally fluent. tomorrow, we climb the dome, explore gardens, and adventure into the wine country. tonight, at a grand time of 7:42, i am planning to go to sleep very very soon. as soon as i wash off airplane and kebap.
