Travel week 1 continued...
February 15th
Last night's overnight train from Munich to Prague was long, tiring, and eventful. Heidi and I attempted to sleep on and off in our uncomfortable chairs, and managed to probably get about a total of 2 out of the 10 hours. At about 6am, when we were actually asleep, we were suddenly awoken by what sounded like 4 Nazi's busting in on us. There were 4 of them, and their voices were loud and deep, and they sounded so angry. I had no idea what was going on, but they paraded in with purpose and urgency. I just looked at them when they stopped over me, and it took a minute for it to register that this was the Czech police and they wanted to check our passports. It didn't help either that they were like staring and Heidi and my passports and making comments in Czech with smirks. It was kind of scary, but oh well.
When we finally got into Prague we were exhausted. We decided to walk around the city because we couldn't check into our hostel for another 4 hours (Ironic because all we wanted to do was sleep). Well, we walked around for 4 hours and got to see Old and New Prague, and it was gorgeous. I have never seen such a truly magnificent city in my life. Every single building has the most unique architecture, and pictures just dont do this city ANY justice. It's breathtaking.
After a 3 hour nap we went out to dinner at this place called Lemon Leaf which was right by our hostel. It was a Thai restaurant, and the food was just spectacular. I couldn't stop eating it, it was soooooo good!!! By far my favorite restaurant yet.
Tonight we are going to some 5 story club which is supposably the biggest club in all of middle Europe. I guess it's worth checking out.

Last night's club was a bit overrrated. It was full of tourists and 15 year old girls. To make matters a little more interesting, only 2 out of the 5 stories were even open. Don't get me wrong, it was still fun, but we definitley had to MAKE it fun.
Today John Heidi and I walked around the touristy part of Prague. We went over towards St. Charles Bridge, and saw the Holy Infant of Prague church, and the Prague castle. We even got to see the changing of the guard for the castle, and that was pretty neat. I just thought that this whole part of Prague was soo beautiful. Obviously I've said that a fair amount about Prague in general, but I really know now why tourists are attracted to this area. It was amazing. And I was sad because my camera ran out of batteries, and before it did, I was never able to capture an image that really gave the picture justice for just how beautiful it was. Maybe when I make my first million I'll invest in a really good camera. It would be a good investment, trust me.
While walking down the streets of Prague we ran into a group of CIMBA students. Random. We decided that we would eat dinner with them, so we ended up eating at this place called Joe's bar. It was kind of disappointing because it didn't have any Czech food. It was all like Mexican and burgers. If I wanted that I would have flown back to the states haha. I really wanted my saurkraut...hahahha. Oh well, it was still fun. Tonight we are going to stay in and get some rest because we are leaving and going back to Paderno tomorrow. Sad, I know. BUT I'm ready to go back. 9 days of the same towel, dirty clothes, and sleeping in hostels is enough for me.

Well we are officially on our way back to campus. I don't really have much to say...but I guess I'll tell you a pretty interesting story about earlier today.
So Heidi John and I had about 3 hours before we had to meet up with the rest of the group to catch a taxi to the airport. We decided to walk back over to St Charles Bridge and that whole area to grab some lunch. We found this really authentic Czech restaurant, and we were really excited about it. While we were ordering, the waitress asked John if we wanted to try a traditional Czech shot that is given before meals. So John agreed, and we ordered our food.
Well, the shot comes out, and it turns out to be a double shot. We are apprehensive, but we think, what the heck, why not. We take the shot together, and it takes pretty nasty, I'm not gonna lie. We continue to talk and sit there, and 5 minutes later John is in the middle of a story when Heidi interrupts. She says "Is anyone else feelin kind of tipsy?"
Now, thank gosh she said that...because we all agreed. I don't know what it was, but it was like that one shot hit us all like a ton of bricks. We were so confused!! I don't think any one of us has ever felt pretty tipsy after 1 shot of anything. It was so strange. And to make things a little more confusing we looked around at the tables around us and noone else had this shot in front of them...
So we finished lunch and we are feeling pretty happy. Well, Heidi is a mess. I don't know how, but she's a mess. I think it affected her a little bit more than John and I. We decided to just go to a pub to waste the next hour or so seeing as though it was highly unlikely we would be sightseeing after that lunch. Well, John and I sit down and Heidi is outside on the phone or something...and she comes in like 5 minutes later. As she is walking down the stairs she trips down the last one and faceplants right in front of the bartender, and the bartender turns and looks at her and all that comes out of his mouth was "shiiit". hahahhahaha.
I'm sorry, it was hilarious. The story after that just got funnier when the cab driver got lost and tried to rip us off and so we paid him less than expected and ran away from him. Yeah, he got mad and started beeping and trying to run after us. That was interesting. Oh and then later we found out that the shot that was given to us was Absinth. Yeah, "traditional Czech shot" my butt!!
OoOoOo good times. What a great way to end the trip.
