The bus ride here was awful, i was convinced i was going to die. The bus driver had absoloutly no qualms about driving half a foot away from a sheer drop (we were driving through the mountains); at one point we drove over a peice of loose dirt and the back wheel almost fell off, i was painfully reminded of those poor girls in Peru. I decided it was not good for my health to look out the window and fell asleep. Mircalously, when i awoke we were out of the mountains, unfortunatly, my feelings of rapture were short lived; there was a girl near me throwing up what appeared to be blood...My arrival in Oaxaca was probably the worst part of my trip, so far. We waited in what can only be described as: a flash-flood, freak thunderstorm - for an hour, hoping a Mexican taxi driver would take pity upon us and pick us up.
Well, i am off to explore the city today, if it does not meet my expectations, i will probably, in my frothing resentment, burn something down - perhaps the Mezcal (the local liquer, probably the closest thing to lethal poison i have ever willingly injested, i was honestly afraid i would wake up blind) factory.
Good news! Turns out that the rainstorm yesterday was not a mere annoyance but an act of god. It was on the national news today, big flood, people died yada yada. Now that i know i was involved in something exciting, i am barely irritated at being soaked and having to wash all my clothes today, there will be no fire, the city will survive - hallelujah, you little, yellow b******s.
