Marty's Adventures
So the first night in the jucy crib was a bit warm and loud!! I will get used to it I hope, this evening seems a bit cooler so hopefully it will be in the campa! I started my day off with a visit to the Koala hospital. I arrived at feeding time which is when they are most active. There were koalas with all kinds of injuries and illnesses. Was a bit heart breaking but at the same time so happy there is a place like this for them to rehabilitate. The volunteers have also been going out in after the forrest fires and trying to find any koala that need help. They have only had one momma and her baby that they have brought in. There were a few abandoned ones that were raised from babies by the volunteers and that they are now teaching them how to be koalas! As I was leaving an injured koala had just been brought in, I was able to watch through the glass as they examined it. Again....heartbreaking but so happy they are being taken care of. I continued on towards Coffs Harbour.....along the way there was a big sign on the side of the road that said I dare you to turn here....so I did! Turns out I spent a few hours at the end of this road!! I found a light house at Captains Cooks look out in Hat Head National Park. I ended up doing a hike down to this beautiful beach you can see in the picture. Was so amazing....and very steep getting down and back up! I then went to Nambucca Heads where I went for a walk down along this very cool walkway. There were all kinds of painted rocks along the way. Many were memorials.....spent some time walking along reading them. There were fisherman along the way...... I finally got to Coffs Harbour and decided I would stay here for the night. I checked in to the caravan park and over heard there was a baby dolphin born at the small marine sanctuary a few blocks away. I walked over only to find they had closed the viewing area to give the baby some time. I was disappointed but might try In the morning to see it. I ended up going for a nice long walk along the beach back to the caravan park. Got my swim suit and went for a crash in the waves....got exfoliated .....there was sand in every part of me.... Supper was leftovers from last night, am settling into the campa life.....the evenings are a bit lonely......everyone at home is sleeping....I guess a good time to tell you about me day :)
