buongiorno!!!! well finally here in italy, besides our plan. the original plan was one week here then hop on a very long expensive ferry to greece sit on a long expensive bus trip to athens then a expensive ferry to an island for 5 days then do the same back to italy for another week but we broke down the cost and time and worked out that is alot of pasta and gelato we could be eating so we will be spending 4wks travelling most of italy, and eating. we arrived 4days ago on a 10hr ferry into pescara, the most unappealing town we have been to. after waiting for 4hrs, a train took us out into the middle of nowhere along the sangro river the reason we headed out here is mitchs great uncle is buried in the english war cemetery. although the walk was long and hot it was worth it. it was not only good to pay respects to mitchs relative but to all the soldiers who fought for a freedom. the cemetery was beautiful and well kept. looking out onto the ocean. still havent been able to work out though seeing all those men who died and broke apart famalies there is still a war hmmm leave that for another discussion !!!! we are now in the dirtiest dodgiest (yes worst then longsight) city in the world Naples. but its the place of pizzas and pasta apparently...test this out tonight. dissapointed been here 4 days and havent got any good food, in fact i have tasted vthe worst pasta and pizza in my life....ironic. the bus trip here was beautiful though. went through the dolomite mountains. all through remote italian villages just how i thouight it would be. well for now we are heating out to the swealtering heat and pollution. to see some things and eat gelato. arrivederci ps, viv or beth we need you !!!!!
