This morning I met Shoshana at the cafe near her hostel. Turns out she had switched to a quieter room just in time for a rave to commence in the flat above. I helped her later haggle a lower price with the owner. He did not receive it very well.
Later we spent hours trying to get our plane tickets checked in online and then printed. I swear Ryan Air builds errors into their websites on purpose just to charge you more. Needless to say, it was a rough morning.
At the airport sho decided to try and carry-on her bag instead of paying the exorbitant fee they wanted to charge her for checked luggage. We ended up repacking all of her bags. My bag went INTO her backpack, and all the heavy things went in there to attempt to get both down to 10kg. Mine (with her gear) weighed 9kg, but had no more space. Her bag weighed 11kg which was too heavy. So, with the jeans, two tank tops, three sweaters, two scarves and a blanket stuffed behind my back we made our hopeful way through security. Giulia (the girl at the desk) said to speak with Luigi at security. When we got there she was actually waiting for us and our bags were carefully overlooked and unweighed. Thank you giulia! It really is all about who you know here. ;)
