Hi guys - sorry it has taken so long to get around to updating this guys! Anyway here goes (from what i can remember as i have been so busy). So we very much enjoyed wellington although it was oretty rainy and very windy. We did the tourist thing and checked out some museums, the cinema and had a lovely lunch with Amy. (for those who dont know sh'es a friend of the family is currently in nz) Right so we bezzed off on the ferry to picton (i spent the entire journey spaced out on travel sick pills - poor paul he had to stay awake for the whole trip) We then got a magic bus to Nelson - this is apparently the second highest city rate of suicides in thw olrd - how nice! Next (notice how i am rushing this part of the trip) we went to Greymouth - where we stayed in a hostel called noahs ark - it was immense every room is kitted out in the theme of an animal - we were in the leapord room - there will be photo's when we find somewhere to plug the camera in! Right to we'll zoom right throught to the next lef which was Franz Jospeh - home to a glacier - we went kayaing on the glacier lake but you will have to see the pics for that - i have got them up and on !)
Right finally we made it to queenstown! yay! home to the biggest activites in the world ! Paul ofcourse was first to do the bungee (aj hacket nevis - its big!!!) then he did a canyon swing (photos on the blog) which let me say i wathced and i was pretty scared - and ofcourse he did the chair verson which meant that he just tipped back on the back legs of the chair and wnet backwards over the canyon. S@#T scary!!
So i finally did an activty myself and did a paragluide! It was amazing i absolutely loved it - not so scary as jump ing off f things as basically i just ran toward the edge of a cliff and before i knew it my feet were off the floor and the wiind had swept the parachute up - amazing!
We also partook in yet some more luging - again hilarious no matter how big you are - mostly the bigger you are the faster you roll! We didn't get chance to chack out minus 5 the ice bar where literally everything in there is made of ice and you can onlu stay in for half an hour! how bizarre - so bit sad we didn't have time to chack that out! right so moving quickly on ey? we also did a shotover jet which is basically a speed boat of sorts that wips through a canyon full of water (though it can go in as little as 10cm water - crazy stuff) and it does 360degree spins lets just say my legs are too short to brace against the foot rests so i got flung around like a nutter - again we'll get to the photo's as soon as poss.
Fianlly we did a soem snow boarding - well paul did soem snowboarding i has some lessons but actually spent the most of the day on my ass, my back, my face and on a conveyer belt being dragged up to the top of the learners (childs) slopes - all in all i suck at snow boarding and i shall never get the hang of it - paul obviously loved it!!
Ok whizzign through things now - we then landed are next leg of the journey to christchurch with two overnight stops along the way - the first in Dunedin (very city liked but all the city is on sslopes - it acutally has the steepest street in the world - which the magic nust driver made us all climb (i was well ill by the way!) up and down!! The other stop was at Lake Tekapo - the lakeside cabin was dead nice and paul even went dfor a swim in the freezing glacier lake tekapo - but i was still really porly so i slept) Finally we made it to chrsitchurch where we had hald a day to check out! We were staying in a really crummy hostel but we were up at 3 to get to the airport for 4am!! So after that we flew smoothly to OZ where we are now i will work on the blog for that soon i promise and i will try not leave it so long that my story sound like the monstrosity above! love you guys xxx
