This is now the fourh attmept we have made at u7sing the internet in fji - bassically the interent is s*** and as soon as someone else logs ont o a computer it delete4s everything i write
so lets try again shall we
First of all back to LA - last day we went to a mall for a bit of a wnader - i had a trip to the loo in a depatment store and found this middle aged w oman walking around in her pants! She look at me and and said and a quote ' sorry ive had an accident' I did not have a clue what to say so i gave my most sypathetic smile and legged it into the nearest cubicle.
Next was the fun and games at the airport! Thanks to the shuttle driver we got dropped off at the wrong terminal at the far end of the airport. We had to peg it over to another building! We great fun with backpacks at the ready on our poor peeling shoulders. AND the airline was no where near as hightech and amazing as air new zealand! gutted!
So arrived in fiji and headed off to our first stay in a backpackers resort called Smugglers Cove. Paul and I both agree its too nice for backpackers - literally ten steps from the sea, beautiful pool and clean lovly rooms.
So from here we booked a day trip into the traditional fiji, a long long coach journey later and we arrived a base. We hopped a long boat through the pissing rain to a fijin village - i swear i thought it would sink! Anyway when we arrvied the village we were greeted with a traditional fijin welcome and presetation of their local tipple - kava. So we tried this kava which tastes like sand and water by the way - turns out the stuff has hallucinagenic qualties and the ability to numb the body - paul didn't notice a thing i howver felt like i was going to throw up!! So i spent the remainder of the visit on a special chari being fanned and having every person in a ten mile radius coming up to me and chacking if a wanted painkillers (no idea why) and did i feel alright? Of course I didn't feel alright i was about the puke my lungs up!!! Honestly what a ridiculous thing to ask!!
Right back on track - we then caught the boat (i was feelin gless wobbly) to a couple of waterfalls - bthe first a nice 5 metre affair and second 50metres. Which we thought would be legend to visit, no people, we had to scramle over wet rock and swim through what can only be described as freezing water!! Anway after that it was back to the small waterfall where mr show off did backflips and front flips into it!! The other tourist applauded - he loved it!
Right so after this we get to the middle leg of the fiji trip we went to the Yasawa island of Wayalailai for three ngihts. It was gorgeous - we're talking unspoilt junglr, mountains and coral reefs. Plus we were right opposite the island used to film castaway! So the first morning (5 in the morning might I add - so dark as there is no leccy 20 hours of the day - that we were us ing our phones to find our way-holly i only just found my torch today) Anyway we met up with this guide his name is Sau he is ace- who took us to the top of the mountain to watch the sunrise. So those of you who know me well know i am probably the least fittest person on the planet!! well by the time we reached the top i was sweating buckets, gasping for breath and clutching on to the rocks for dear life.
Next we went reef snorkling - pretty cool stuff except of course for the sharks. And they made us feed the b*****s - so paul was all chilled stroked one of thing things- whereas it took me ten minutes beofre i would even look at them. The were actually pretty preaceful and its def a box to tick!
Right so after this the guide Sau decided to make us his guinnea pigs and take us on a new trekk around the isalnd! There were rocks, and jungles and within about ten mins i fell and spr ained my rubbish ankle. Not to worry though I made it round after several hours with the help of a trusty walking branch! Did i mention the free bar? Well it consisting of Sau climbing barefoot up a tree puuling down some coconuts and using makeshift straws fropm reeds - this is the ultimate trip people - it was amazing
Umm there was one downside to the island - everynight we were woken up by this dude nextdoor who i swaer to god snored so loud it sounded like a thunder storm. So after two nights paul took it upon himsleft to put an end to this by throwing things at the wall - alas this didn't woprk - i was awake but the guy next door just kep snoring through!
So we got back to the mainland about fours hours ago and arrived at a place next door to Smugglers cover - lets just say we wish we were next door!
But anyway thats all for now
check you guys later
