SO off to Airlie Beach (another manmade style beach) with a lagoon to try to accomodate for the shabbiness of the sands and poor views! Luickily tho, the time was minimal as we spent our 3day 2nights on New Horizon, a sailing boat which guided its way round the Whitsunday Islands! By far the most impressive moment being the first glimpses of Whitehaven Beach, never before will I experience anything like it again, I know its pathetic to get passionate about nature but the combination of squeaky, pure white sands which were rippled, strething across the beach, the variety of coloursin the water from deep blue, greens, turquoise and even colours which Dulux hasnt even added to their colour chart yet, were scattered throughout the water, broken up by small pockets of mini sand dunes to break it up! Surrounded by a valley of thick green vegetation, it truly is the most amazing place i've been in my entire life, and probably ever... surely honeymooners and engagement proposals are rife in this spot! Just Wow!
The time on the boat was mediocre, the crew leader a bit of an arrogant fat english guy, another english guy who threw himself overboard at 4am *shark feeding time (of which Bull and Tiger Sharks roam) whilst hammered was the highlight of excitement!Had my 10th Scuba Dive tho, led by a girl from CUmbria but didn't really see a great deal of exciting stuff but snorkling in a small bay probably outweighed it, wiuth heaps and heaps of colourful fish and some giant clams!
