Well after avoiding the tsunami warnings the day before, i picked up my final bank shattering pay cheque from Cerrutis and headed onto the ferry and along to Central/Railway Square in Sydney and jumped on board the greyhound bus with a matter of mins to spare still loving the fact that all my travel was paid for following mine and paul's modelling spree!
So i arrived down at canberra, got checked into the yha clinging onto my bodyboard and wetsuit (despite being 3hours from any coastline)! Hostel was exactly the same as all the other yhas but did have a puddle, cold spa and closed sauna to appeal! I was in a room with some polish air conditioning technition and a guy from chile who was working at the circus but wudnt tell me what he did... blatently something outrageous!
In the morning i jumped on the tour bus and headed to the War memorial (oz's most visited attraction), saw captain cook's fountain/jet, parliament houses and museum of australia! I met a couple on the tour (literally the only people under 40) n ended up going on a top night out in canberra with this irishman and his swedish girlfriend who had an irish accent... can u get a bettter combo?
The next day i rented a bike and cycled 50km round the baron griffin lake contending with loose handlebars and a brokken seat, went up telstra tower and then hit the oz institute of sport before unwinding in the chilly spa!
Then was my first real test of manhood, i took the greyhound at 11.55pm thru to melbourne, arriving at 8am where i headed to see Ashley's sis and her flatmates for what was supposed to be a one night stopover spot! I'd had minimal sleep and a neck so stiff that a chiropractor wud have kittens! To be continued...
