So after flying from Thailand (because we wanted to avoid any more boats or trains for the time being ;-) we landed in Kuala Lumpur.
Its a very modern city with a good monorail system which is cheap and efficient. We were not really sure what to expect from the city but found an incredible amount of shops and restaurants. There were shopping mall's as big as lakeside on almost every street corner!!!
These catered for the locals with cheap clothes and electronics all the way up to places with louis Vitoun, Prada, Gucci etc but 10 stories high!! You would then find a many restaurants and even cinemas and entire theme parks on the upper levels. Once such place had a roller coaster that I went on with Kay, Myles and Paul whilst Andrea observed from a safe distance.
On our last day we managed to meet up with some friends, Kay who some of you may remember from ocado, her boyfriend Myles and Paul. They are all also members of the Band 'Distractions'. Paul has been travelling since September and has been to south America and Australia amongst other places so far. It was good to see them and have a little piece of home away from home. We met with them in Jackie Chan's cafe in one of the malls.
We went to the park the surrounds the petronas Towers for the day but never made it to the skybridge as it entailed a 7am wake up call to get a ticket! We would have liked more time in Malaysia to experience the countryside but maybe on the next trip.....next up Singapore then Aus!
