After a good night at the local pub watching Queensland win the state of origin for the seventh time we geared up to head into the Whitsunday Islands.
We booked on a tour which uses Ocean going rafts each powered with 2 x 250hp outboards. The weather was fabulous but windy. The open ocean was pretty hairy with 3 to 4 meter swell. The raft was sensational and belted through the surf with ease but we spent most of the time off our seats. By the time we got to our snorkelling spot everyone was stuffed.
The reef was pristine and had lots of fish of all types and colours. The water was cold and the visability wasn't great but the experience was worth it. I'm glad we had wetsuits. Greg and I were last to get back onto the boat.
Coming home the skipper opened the throttle and we we tossed from pillar to post but great fun, we both feel knacked now and will be in bed early tonight after a couple of beers back at the local.

Angela Sounds like a great day. What fun! Did you have your own wetsuits or have to hire them? Bet you sleep like logs tonight
