We arrived at Chiang Mai on the 19th september, our flight had no delays so our connection through Bangkok was fine. We checked into the green tulip guest house (which we would definalty recomend) at 2.30pm we went to Tiger Kingdom to play with the baby cubs and have our pictures with the older tigers and lions, We didnt really no what to make of tiger kingdom and arnt sure whether we would recomend people to go. That evening we booked to watch a Thai Boxing match, we really enjoyed it and got really into it untill this fat american man was being so loud and irritating to all the Thai supporters. We couldnt believe how yound some of the boxers where its crazy. If anyone goes to Thailand make sure you see a boxing match its full of culture.
On sunday we had a wonder around the sunday market, its such a nice market, not at all like any market you would find in Bangkok, its very quiet and welcomming. We ended up buying a few clothes.
We went to the Elephant Park on Monday (there will be a separate blog for that)
We arrived back from the Elephant park on the Sunday and met up with two of the girls we had gotton really friendly with over the week called Gemma and Nicola from Basingstoke, we went for an italian meal with them which was lovely then a drink at a bar.
Monday morning we tagged along wth Gemma and Nicola to Flight of the Gibbons, which is a zip wiring and absailing in the jungle. The zip wires were so hi and the highest absail was 45 feet it was a free fall! really good, although poor Nicola is scared of heights, she did so well though. We saw the cutest puppies there too which we all wanted to take hoem with us. That evening we had to say goodbye to Gemma and Nicola which was hard because they are so lovely, but we will definatly be seeing them again in England when we return.
on Tuesday (yesturday) we took a bus at 7.30 am to Bangkok arriving at 6ish (you have to go through bangkok to get to the islands) we were the only westerners on the bus which was quite nice. Once arriving at Bangkoks northrern bus station we had to get accros to the southern one, which took one hour 200baht by taxi due to traffic. We just made it and maanged to grad some dinner to go and book onto the next bus leaving at 7.30pm to Koh Phangan, the bus journey took 12 hours and then a 3 hour ferry ride. We are now dsafley in Koh Phangan looking forward to meeting up with Kate and Mark who we met in Vietnam, and the full moon party on sunday night.
We will write up the elephant nature park soon-its just so amazing there, its really hard to write it down. Please if anyone is thinking of going on elephant treks (riding elephants) please dont do it, we have found out all about how they traing them to do this and it is absolutly horrendous! Make sure you go and see the elephants in there natural environment like we did in the Elephant Nature Park.
Take Care everyone Bye for now xxx
