Hi Both
Your trip to Cairnes sounds great - eventually!
I'm very jealous of the diving experiences you have had there.
It sounds as if Dave is really looking forward to no longer working full time - it is to be recommended.
We had a small dinner party this weekend and missed you both.
Ringo is on Hilary's lap being groomed as I write this.
Love

Hi both
Your trip to Cairns sounds wonderful. How are you feeling now you are back in PNG?!
Abigail gave birth to little girl number 2 (no name as yet) on Friday afternoon. 6lb 14oz and bang on time! Unfortunately they broke down on leaving the hospital so we got a phone call at 10.30pm to help out. As you can imagine it was all a bit chaotic but we got them home safely and are going to visit properly this afternoon as it is also Abigails birthday.
David does his last school concert on Wednesday - Dad and I will go - no doubt Dad will have to get his hankerchief out at the end!
Speak soon

And when did "a result" become "an outcome", "meddling in the affairs of others" become "an intervention" and "liar" become "politician"

P.S. Sorry about the spelling mistakes in the previous message!

Sorry to hear about your trubbles with Expedia - by the sounds of it definitely "ex" as your chosen travel company after they "peed" all over "ya"! But the results of the delay seem to have turned out very positively and I am pleased you enjoyed your break overall. Must have been such a joy to be able to get on the internet and not worry that the connection would fail after 30 seconds!
It's a pity you are not still there to be able to take a look at the updates I have done to my website. I learned this week how to embed a google map into the website, which is probably old hat to most people who read your message board, but was a Damascus experience for me! So now within a few clicks on the website, you can have a street map and directions of how to get to the pool from well known landmarks in Chiangmai city centre. When you get a chance, Google "Chiang Mai Swimming Pool" and see what you get!
When did we stop talking in millions and suddenly measure everything in billions? Whether you hold to the Oxford English Dictionary that a billion is a million million, or the American definition that a billion is 1.000 million, a billion is beyond most people's ability to comprehend.
A US marketing company came up with the following ideas to try to give a perspective (and they presumably used the American interpretation):
a) A billion seconds ago it was 1959
b) A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive
c) A billion hours ago our ancestors were alive and well in the Stome Age
d) A billion days ago, no man walked on the earth
e) A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes ago at the rate of the US goverments current spending!
Puts an interesting twist on all those zeroes!

Sorry - I have not posted a message for a while. To make up for it, here is the best Irish joke ever...
John O'Reilly hoisted his beer and said, 'Here's to spending the rest of me life, between the legs of my wife!'
That won him the top prize at the pub for the best toast of the night!
He went home and told his wife, Mary, 'I won the prize for the best toast of the night.'
She said, 'Great! And what was your toast?'
John said, 'Here's to spending the rest of me life, sitting in church beside me wife.'
'Oh, that is very nice indeed, John!' Mary said.
The next day, Mary ran into one of John's drinking buddies on the street corner.
The man chuckled leeringly and said, 'John won the prize the other night at the pub with a toast about you, Mary.'
She said, 'Aye, he told me, and I was a bit surprised myself. You know, he's only been there twice in the last four years. Once he fell asleep, and the other time I had to pull him by the ears to make him come.'

Tried to phone but I've an idea your're away somewhere - Cairns? Great to read about your amazing times - school trips may seem a little tame in the future Alison. I have 12 working days until I retire - one more concert and then a bit of a bash the day before I finish. Dad came over yesterday for lunch and Julie went to see Take That! Jen is recovering slowly. Take care - love Dave and Jenxx

Everything here is fine.. Glastonbury is a wash out again and Oh Michael Jackson had died.. Other than that all is the same.. Except SATS is going and they are at last going to let you lot "teach" instead of just fill out forms..

Hello both
Hope you are well. We've been over to D&J's for Fathers Day dinner. Bought Dad a reclining garden chair from all off us. Ben & Mo;;y came too Molly is off to an activity place tomorrow for a week of outdoor fun!
We had a little visitor on Friday night/Saturday. Eloise, Abigail's little girl, stayed overnight. We took her to the park and had a lovely day. We did it to give them a bit of a break before baby no.2 comes along in a week or so.
Cellar conversion plans are coming on slowly - been distracted by an outdoor garden furniture sale! Had an interesting time at Henley Business School - lovely place and good course.
