Got off the ship early to send off last lot of blogs and emails. Even had a reply from Phai whilst I was at it. Dropped my iPad back into my cabin and then went back ashore to try and find Gary. Tracey is in Mexico. The Sea Princess was also in port, so I was concerned that Gary wouldn't know which ship I was on. In the event, he was waiting for me and we set off together.
We went to the gannet colony at Muriwai. It was quite interesting. On the beach there were a lot of young kids around 8 - 12. They were part of a life saving club. They swam a long way out to sea and along the shore for a while and then back to the beach. I was really impressed. A P&O excursion was there at the same time and I met a few people I know.
We then called in to a supermarket so I could buy a box of wine for my cabin and then drove over the Harbour Bridge. We had lunch in a pub and I was dropped off by the ship at about 3.30. I watched the Sailaway from the Terrace Deck. We were docked right by the Hilton and quite a few people waved us off. The tug pulled us away and then did wheelies after it had released us.
I only ate two courses at dinner. There was a great show in the theatre. It was a local Maori dance group called T.O.A. (Te Oranga Ake). They were really good, as usual with these things, the hauled up members of the audience. Yvonne got up. Another bottle of wine won in Masquerade Challenge.
