Day Two
We had the hotel arrange a tour of the Musee des Arts Forains. They don't usually allow just 2 people so we were to join a larger group. Tours also have to be prearranged. We were very lucky. As the tour was set for 2:30, we went off to Montmartre by subway. It rained a bit but not bad. We walked around the artist area and went into the church while mass was being conducted.
The tour of the Musee was fabulous. The tour was in French but an employee caught up whenever he could and gave us the English version. A guy started buying interesting carnival figures and first used them in a much smaller location but it became very popular so he bought the run down former wine warehouse area and started this museum. It is primarily used for private parties but sometimes movies use the location. Guests get to play the games and ride the old rides including a bike ride that goes faster the faster everyone pedals. Tom won the "Waiter Race" which involves rolling a ball into holes of different values to advance your waiter. The museum was magical.
We then came back to the hotel to change rooms.
For dinner we decided to walk to a hotel about 2 km away. Unfortunately it was closed. So was the next one we tried. We ended up going to. The local pub for expensive pub grub.
We bought a cookie at the local bakery to split in our room for dessert.
