We wake up in the morning with no accommodation booked for that night. We tried the tablet and this time it worked, we booked into a posh hotel for two nights in Ubud, honeymoon central! We also reply to an email about beach bungalows in Amed and so have the next 5 nights booked up, a bit of a relief! We pack our stuff, check our lockers and check out. The owners of the hostel give us each a Bali keyring with our names on and a thank you message, is so lovely and they take a picture of us before booking us a taxi and seeing us on to the next place. We are in the taxi about an hour and a half and it comes to about £14, he is not sure of the exact route to the hotel and once in Ubud we take a few wrong turns and have reveresed up a tiny road. The driver asks for directions and we're finally at the gates. The hotel area looks lovely. Reception and the restaurant are all open and the rooms all look towards a garden area with a pool and loungers there is a water polo net up that Hannah and I eye up! We go
into our room, it is HUGE! With two massive beds in it, dressing table and a chez longe. There is Balinese artwork hanging on every wall. We go into the bath room and it is covered in dead flies! We talk to reception and they come in to clean it while we head to the pool with our books. Hannah starts reading a book and for the first time, reads the prologue. She's not very impressed with my advice to read it as she says it has told her the whole story and she's still not convinced she should have read it! We are not sitting there long before Sarah gets into a 'pod' chair and Hannah and I get into the pool to play water polo, do some summersaults and handstands underwater, have a swim and get some pictures. When it comes to getting showers, I'm still a bit worried about the bathroom and so we all shower together under one shower in our bikinis washing our hair! Then we dress up for the first time this holiday, even put a bit of make up on! We then walk across the gardens to the restaurant. Again there are some cats in the restaurant as it is all open but no one seems bothered. We have brownie for dessert but it's more like a dense dark cake - it tastes nice enough though. We head back to our room, play cards, we have sussed out two new games, Chelsea bridge and Yani! We notice water running down the wall and after investigating find a puddle of water so tell reception and they clean it up. We do a puzzle and Hannah and I do a killer sodoku. After reading a bit I go to sleep.
