Today has been a fairly boring day or at least I think so (Jukka had fun). We just took the subway to Yonge-Bloor station and walked around for ages. Our plan was to find some kind of Caribbean restaurant there, because the area was supposed to be "mainly West Indian" according to the Lonely Planet guidebook. Well, that plan didn't work out that well as the only two Caribbean restaurants we found were bankrupt. After giving up in that area we headed back to Chinatown where we knew that there would be a Jamaican restaurant. It took a while to get there and when we finally did, we couldn't find the restaurant anywhere! What a waste of time, I had been hungry for three hours already and we just couldn't find anywhere to eat (except Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Japanese, Lebanese, Italian, Greek, Portuguese, Chilean, Ethiopian and Indian).
After walking up and down the same road twice, we decided to go to the Village Idiot Pub that we proved to be good the other night. So the West Indies didn't work out for us this time, but maybe one of Montreal's 30 000 Haitians (yep, that's thirty thousand!) has put up a place where to get some griot and fried plantains. Montreal seems to be a nice city in every way, so many people have responded to our requests via Hospitality Club that we now have at least ten couches to sleep on when we get there. =)
After eating we walked around some more in downtown (as if we hadn't walked enough) and finally we went to the train station to come back home to Pickering. Now we're just lying on the bed and we should start preparing to go to bed as we have to wake up early tomorrow to go and watch Donna's son's baseball tournament. It's really fun to take part in such an all American happening, we'll report back on how it went tomorrow. =)
