As I sit in the most amazing restaurant I have ever seen, the Radisson Royal Hotel and whats seems to be the whole of Moscow in my gaze, I wonder what the hell I am eating. Raw fish, orange caviar and maybe that purple thing is beetroot? With egg? My tastes buds have not yet become accumstomed to the Russian delicaseys.
Gone are the days of sausage and mash, sponge and custard and even a proper brew. A yorkshire lass needs her tea! Yet of the 6 different brands of 'English Tea' that have passed my lips.. not one has been seen back home. Not only do Russians believe that all us Brits drink our tea black, but also that we have a variety throughout the day. Starting withe green tea in the morning, black in the afternoon and a variety of different fruity flavour in the evening. Each to combat one ailment or another.
Give me a Tetley any day!
