Woke up for 9:00am and went to quickly eat breakfast in our guesthouse.
We got picked up by the tuk tuk at 9:30! Couldn't get rid of some guy telling us to go to his guesthouse in Vang Vieng! He made us late!
Got to the coach and sat waiting for an hour! I hate it when they get you there too early! Happens every time though, we still haven't learned to not rush for them because they certainly don't rush for us!!
Then I think the coach was supposed to take 3 hours and took just over 4 so we arrived in Vang Vieng around 2:00! The scenery on the way here is beautiful though all the mountains disappearing into the mist, proper waterfalls... Lush!
We took another tuk tuk to the main town and it dropped us outside a dirty hotel were the receptionist worked two speeds: slow and then stop! God give me strength!
So we walked down the street and looked in Malanay villas! 1st floor room is perfect as the top floors are too hot, but the bottom floors have cockroaches and smelly drains! All the rooms here all have cable tv! We've never been offered that before! I guess because everyone that comes to Laos are stupid air-head tourists that only come to tube and not take in the scenery so they've had to compromise!
The room here is half the price of the last one we stayed in, 50,000Kip which is around $7.50 can't even be bothered to work it out in sterling but between the two of us it's nothing!!
The cover image is of our guesthouse, complete with its own mini mountain in the background :)
We asked the receptionist were to go to eat noodles, we went and there was 5 different noodle restaurants!! We didn't know which one he meant so ended up going to eat western, just to stay safe! Western food bores me now!
We also asked the receptionist about our Chinese Visa, he said the embassy is now closed!!! We have been travelling from right down south up north until we get to China, planning on getting our visa's at the next stop, Luang Prabang! We also can't get them there! Wound.
So now were gonna have to do the stupid bus ride all the way back down to Vientiane to get our visa and then travel 14 hours back up north! Kill me now!
We booked a tour for tommorrow, a full day of kayaking, tubing, caving, remote village and elephant rock! For 100,000kip each! (£8.07) bargain!
