So got up and packed and checked out of the guesthouse by dinner! It was so awkward them asking where we're going and why we're not staying I was just like err... We're meeting friend and well come back here in a few days?.. :/ Totes awks!
Went to the hotel the waitress had recommended us, she said her Cambodian friend had stayed there last week and it cost her $7 a night... Really? When it has a rooftop pool? She said it may cost us slightly more being tourists but not too much....
The first room he offered me was $69 a night!! My jaw dropped to the floor! The cheapest he could do it for was for $55! My jaw remains still, on the floor...
We politely declined then he recommended us to Tom and Jerry guesthouse not too far from there, closer to the centre! And he drew me a little map! So off we went the room is $7 a night again, it's spotlessly clean, we each have out own double bed, cleaned everyday, a fan, a tv with real working channels (all five Asian ones too! :D) and it has coat hangers! This is luxury for us! She even asked if we wanted more hangers so we now have a total of 6each! No more squabbling over closet space!!! :D sold!
We ate at the guesthouse it's okay food but takes forever to cook! Then went for a walk around! We went to the market to look at all the tat and ended up buying watches, mines an o.t.s and cost $6 not bad when she started at $15?? I'm getting to be a pro at this haggling malarkey!
Opposite was a hair salon, outside having dinner was two hairdressers and 8 assistants!!!! I need to work here! she said its $3 for a hair cut... Sold! It's got so long and the weather here is so humid it's getting on my nerves, plus I can only cut the sides and front myself so the back was growing into some kind of long Swedish looking mullet that I could have plaited it and stuck a bead on the end!
I tried looking through Facebook photos to show her how I wanted it but I don't have Internet here now so that one fell flat... She only had one magazine with a photo of a guy with short, back and sides, I said yes like this but long, infact the complete opposite of this!! She laughed and got the clippers out! Kill me now! I closed my eyes and tried not to think of sweeney tod!
It looks cool though I was well impressed with how cheap it was! Il be coming back :) so now that I can feel the wind on my neck again, all I have to worry about is the annoying bugs that stick to my skin!!!
In the evening we went for a walk around and ended up going to station wine bar, it's classy and has some expensive fine wines in offer! We got sat down inside and annie turned to tell me she doesn't drink wine! Great, two Budweiser's (cheapest on the menu... £2) and then left! We went to Miss Wongs! We had Passionfruit cocktails and then felt in the mood for a boogy ;) So I asked the bar guy, Jay where was good to go dance, he told us to go to pub street and named a few clubs :D done, taxi for two! Gone!
So we were there a few hours, now on sex on the beach pitchers... Jay and bonnie from Miss Wongs came to meet us after work at 1:00am and we partied with them in the Temple Bar! Where the only worshipping that goes on in there is 'all hale the ale'!!!!
I loved the night but on the walk home one of the little girls on the street tried selling us bouquets of flowers, she shoves them right at your chest so you catch them with both hands and then they go through your pockets whilst your hands are full!!! I covered my pockets constantly and let the flowers fall on the floor and just walked past! No issue but I just feel so bad ignoring a cute little girl :( I hate the poverty side of this country and the fact it's so common :(
