Hey
Time for a quick and maybe last update from Vancouver (don't know if I will have time to do another). Anyway, hope you have enjoyed following my experiences at UBC in Vancouver.
I have now gotten past the first three exams last Thursday, Saturday (!) and yesterday. It was quite a challenge as the first was quite a boring subject and took forever to get through. The second exam was an open book exam (bring notes, slides, books) so it was easier and yesterday was 2,5 hours with no books and I only had 1,5 day to prepare - which was not really enough. Now I have a week to prepare for my last exam (possibly the easiest), sort out practical stuff regarding moving out and maybe do some Christmas shopping. Maybe I also need to pay one last visit to Safeway, which is the home by now to a large share of my fortune…
Since my last blog I have attended the season-ending games in basketball and ice hockey as a member of the Blue Crew. To my big surprise I was not one of the fans awarded for going to most games (and thereby collecting most points), but I suspect they really messed up registering the points. I could've won some nice prices incl. tickets to go see the Canucks play, gift cards and an iPod. I sold the mp3-player I won earlier this year, and I am now left with a signed NBA basketball and a signed UBC Baseball t-shirt…
Due to the amount of rain we have received over the last weeks and the fact that I needed to study for my exams, I haven't been up to much except one night where I didn't rain and we had a bonfire with marshmallows at Wreck Beach. In between studying and rain I have also found time to see some amazing sunsets to get the most of my last weeks at UBC.
I also incorporated a new word into my vocabulary, which is "procrastination". It basically means postponing the work you should be doing in favour of something pointless like spending too much time on Facebook, Messenger, Skype, watching too much ice hockey and too many movies etc ("at lave oversprings handlinger") - Which of course is something I would never do… Hence the name of album #14 with pictures.
I will be checking out of UBC on the 15th or 16th after my final exam. Then I will go to Whistler with the rest of the exchange students for a fabulous goodbye celebration and have 2 days in Vancouver before flying back to Denmark on the 22nd.
Hope to see you all soon,
Michael
