Well a place I could live in (Michael) !! We arrived at 5.30pm on a thursday evening, organised our activities for the following day…..
Friday morning we had another early start to catch the Shotover jet boat ride, running twin supercharged v6 motors pushing 500hp got us going down the river through canyons and rapids doing 360 spins.
Was a thrill for a little but eventually got quite boring as it was speed limited to 80kph!!
We finished up with the jet boating and made our way back to town to do some shopping then finally got to the time of my first ever bungy jump!!
I figured if your going to bungy why bother doing the small ones???
NEVIS 3rd highest in the world at 134m from a high wire cable car.
I think Julie was more scared then I was, for me it was one hell of a rush!
I didn't get any pics of my jump cause as usual the cameras weren't working…how typical but my wonderful wife Julie and " wonderful photographer" was brave enough to take the ride onto the cable car to get some video footage!
Next stop China for the highest jump in the world!! I think I found my new extreme sport hehe.
Saturday 3rd and final day in Queenstown….We were really looking forward to seeing Milford Sound 4hr drive from Queenstown.
We decided to rent a cheap car between 5 of us, Im sure Julie has mentioned that we met some English girls from our bus anyway what a headache never never again!!
Rang Phils rentals now your probably thinking already that sounds dodgy!! Correct….. it was a banged up old ford sierra station wagon, I think the corona car we had a few years ago was much better!
Cause we were doing it cheap I made some sandwiches even got up early to make them! Left at 11am sweet were on time should make it for the 3.15 boat at Milford sound, I could not believe this car flat foot and still not going anywhere even with the mouths of the English girls blabbering on in the back couldn't even get it going faster!
With my foot flat to the floor we get to a slight hill at Five Lakes 1.5 hour drive from Queenstown….. click there goes the bloody accelerator cable damn what to do now???
Gave my mate Phil a call to tell him what was going on, his reaction was just to dump the car and hitch hike back to Queenstown….. hmmm with 4 girls now my day just got interesting!
With all the jumbled conversations and winging from the English girls I finally got them into a car with 2 old ladies, I felt like popping a bottle of champagne with Julie at that point in time such a relief!!!! 10 minutes later a young couple picked us up in a subaru legacy turbo SWEET AS!!
Back into Queenstown and off to have a nice cold beer!! What a day. So far Queenstown by far is the place to go in New Zealand despite the dramas!
