Hello everyone! I am once again sorry that it has taken me so long to update my blog, maybe we can make this a bi-weekly event and I won't feel like I've missed my mark by far. Anyway, on to the good stuff.
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend, because I know I sure did. Last week's teachings were on Worship and the Holy Spirit, and as we came to the end of the teachings it was all about baptism. After considering the meaning of water baptism, I started to really seek the Lord about being re-baptized. I know that in being here for these last several months I have gained a new freedom in my faith like never before. God had spoken words over me about moving on from being in this low and mourning place to rejoicing and being free. I really knew all these things had taken place in my heart and mind over the last three months, but now I just really wanted to proclaim it and celebrate as a public act of worship. I decided to get re-baptized with three other students on our team. So on Good Friday we went over to our leader's house for a big breakfast, some worship and prayer time, and then those that were getting baptized shared about why we decided to do it. Then we all walked down to the creek in Gideon's Valley, not too far from our waterfall. The water was freezing, but that was just another push to prove we really were "keen" on going through with it! What a wonderful way to say that I am no long bound, but washed clean through the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed so that I could live!
Afterwards we decided that the ocean would be a much better source of water to play in because it wouldn't be so cold. So a group of us loaded up into a van and headed for the sea! When we got to the beach, after a while of waiting for my turn, I was taught how to surf! It was really so much fun and I was totally hooked. On Saturday we took another van full of people to hit up another beach where the Narnia: Prince Caspian movie had filmed a few of their scenes. I watched a family in a boat send out a little raft so that their kids could hang out on the beach for a while and laughed as a little boy was sitting in the middle and crying while his siblings towed him to shore. I thought, "That used to be me! I was always the littlest one crying and afraid of the ocean." So maybe I laughed a little too much as a little wave came and toppled him off his raft and onto the beach. I really appreciated my all siblings and my parents for tugging me along so that now I could even say, "Oh yeah bro, I'm keen as to go surfing today!" (Spoken very NZ terms)
Well today was our last day of lectures and it was truly wonderful. I am bless to have been with these amazing people everyday and can't wait to head off into outreach. I wrote a good amount for now so I'll write again tomorrow before we head off to Japan to let you all know the details of our trip. I want to thank everyone for keeping up with me, and for those of you who have been keeping me in prayer I just wanna send a big kiss and hug for all the blessings it has brought me. Thanks so much! Ok, until tomorrow... and if you want check out some pictures I posted of the week. And also I tried my hardest to find exactly where our little home is in the middle of nowhere on the map.
