Goodbye New Zealand
I'm at the airport literally about to board my plane. To sum up the past month i guess i can only use one word: awesome. Spending time on what can only be described as one of the most naturally beautiful countries on earth, has been the best experience of my life. Skydiving, water rapiding, bungy jumping and much drinking later, i've survived and come out a more fullfilled person. Its easy to see why Lord of the Rings was filmed here. Tolkein once described middle earth, as our world but slightly different; slighlty more spectacular, ancient and pure. That's exactly what New Zealand is: our world but more fantastic, a fairytale land on the other side of the earth so similiar yet so much more surreal. You have to see the the snow topped peak of Mount Torongo, walk between the moving epic of Franz Jospeh glacier, jump off a canyon in Mount Cook, bathe in the natural hot springs in Taupo and visit a West Country dairy farming maschiginer to truly understand.
Farewell New Zealand, may this not be the only time we meet. Keep in touch ([email protected]) and don't ever change!
A loving stranger,
Mike
