This morning we (Liz and I) wake up with a headache thanks to Glenn's buckets of Baileys. Will be a big day. After cruising all night we are to arrive in Miltenberg but not until 11am. We have a Glass blowing demonstration on board. It is very entertaining. we have opted for the fast walking tour of Miltenberg which involves walking up to a castle to take in the view. -spectacular! Miltenberg was damaged significantly during the wars and a lot of the building have not been replaced. You feel like you have been placed in a fairytale, it is a very pretty medieval village. Back on board we have lunch while the ship sails to Freudenberg. Here we have chose to ride the bikes along the river path to the next stop. It is a 25 km trip with slight undulations but not too hard. It is quite warm today around 28 so the sun is very hot while riding. at the end of the ride is a Beer garden, it is that pot if gold that keeps everyone going. We have riden from Freudenberg to Wertheim another pretty little village. The Germans are very big on camping and caravanning so dotted along the river are many caravan parks What we didn't expect was a group of about 20 caravans parked under a bridge on the concrete! The people are sitting in deck chairs reading and 'relaxing' but on concrete under a big bridge - go figure! We have time for a quick look around and a visit to the shop of the glass blower before reboarding the ship. Wertheim was seriously flooded in March 2011 but the villagers are prepared and the houses are built to withstand this so life goes on ....... Very interesting when you think that these places were built over 800 years ago. Tonight we sail to Wurzburg.
