The day started off innocently enough. I was going to drop by the Galway hertz to have them fix the headlight but decided I wouldn't really be driving at night anymore anyways so I just drove toward Clonmacnoise (the place in the picture). When I got there I was locking the car when I noticed that the rear driverside tire was flat. I was annoyed but I grabbed the paperwork and thought I would call the roadside assistance number and they could fix it while I was checking out the site. Hertz informed me that fixing flats was not part of the coverage so I would have to do it myself! Luckily the workers at Clonmacnoise were nice and knew of someone locally who could look at it. I looked around while the gentleman looked at it and found out the job would cost 80 euro. Since hertz had made it clear it was my responsibility I gave the go ahead. Once he had the wheel off the car he realized the rim was cracked and he wouldn't be able to fix it today! He showed me that it had been cracked and repaired before which had made it weak in that spot! He put the spare on for me and I drove all the way to Dublin going 70kph in a 120kph zone! Once in Dublin I got lost a few times and showed up about 2hrs later at the hostel! I really hope the rest of the trip goes smoothly and that the car can be fixed quickly and for fairly cheap. I also hope all you fine folk have had a better week!
