Jet lagged and super duper tired, our little group caught a taxi from Heathrow to the Rembrandt Hotel in Knightsbridge. Made british friend #1 with an all knowing, humorous, Aussie loving taxi driver. Arriving at Rembrandt we unpacked and endeavored to make the most of the day despite being half asleep,. Thus we traipsed the streets of Knightsbridge half awake, half comatose but amazed at the beauty London has to offer!
We then walked to the Victoria and Albert Museum which was absolutely gorgeous, the architecture and the wings upon wings of sculptures, metal work, tapestries, paintings and jewelry has solidified my desire to move to London to live!
Now I'm going to write in dot points (sorry mum but I'm so so tired!)
-visited the renaissance and medieval wings
-saw an ACTUAL INGRES, DELACROIX, TURNER, CONSTABLE and one of Da Vinci's notebooks!!!!
Didn't get to spend as long in the V&A as I would have hoped and didn't get to see the paintings in the main wings :(
-had dinner at Pret a Manger- they are EVERYWHERE!
-crashed into bed early
-sunny and warm!! (their first in days!)
