Crew Briefing Day
It was the first day of getting the majority of crew together for a mass briefing. I met up with old friends and made some new. Everyone was wearing silly grins on their faces and of course proudly showing off their new Clipper Crew jackets. We are the Clipperarti!
A quick tour round my possible new home - a Clipper 70 and then to the hotel for the briefing via PR shots for the website. Big smiles all round. Lots of information was imparted by the Clipper team and of course Sir Robin Knox-Johnson. I think probably the most anticipated bit was where the start would be and when. Well we now know when - 30th August 2015, but not where yet! For me the route I'll be taking was partially confirmed - My leg 5 starts from the Whit Sundays in Western Australia via an asian port (to be confirmed) and ends in Qingdao, China.
Leg 6 is the long haul across the Pacific ending in West coast USA (port to be confirmed)
Here's a little video of what we got up to - -https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLXyzu774uiZdo8xWJwfFvw
I lurch minute by minute from giddy excitement to all out fear and terror!
Next sailing training is L2 and L3 over Easter. Waterproof socks and thermals at the ready!
Exciting stuff!
