Dubai really lays it on..... We got a good look around the airport as we made ready to fly out. It's a pretty amazing design with everything in grand proportions. There's not too much that's old in Dubai. We found out that they didn't even have electricity 60 years ago. It was just a small trading post on a creek. Now they have 7 lane highways going each way! And huge man made islands. It's a hideous waste of resources really.

Made it safely to dubai.... Business class was fab! It made the 11 hour flight go quickly. Wish john could have been there too. He is now catching up on some sleep before we head out to have a look around town. My first impression is that everything is BIG. The airport is gargantuan, clean and well signposted.
